Sustainable V8 project – One month to go until the on-stage reveal.

It was way back in February that we decided to take a step in to the unknown and embark on a project to find out if we can run the British Motor Show 5.0 litre V8 Mustang in a sustainable way with our partners at eBay.
Those of you that have been following the project over the past few months will know by now that the Mustang is not a vanity car, only coming out on sunny days. It’s a daily work horse, whether it’s carting the British Motor Show team up and down the country to events, or doing tyre-screeching donuts around Rockingham, the Mustang doesn’t have an easy life.
This month saw us take our sustainably run Mustang to a group who have been keeping a very keen eye on its progress – Simply Mustangs UK.
Simply Mustangs UK
As the largest Mustang owners club in the UK, how could we refuse their invitation to join them on a sunny Saturday in leafy Berkshire to chat with their members about the project and answer their questions about how they can run their pride and joy in a way that is less impactful on the environment.
When you think about a Mustang owners club, you probably don’t image a group that puts their cars green credentials above the thundering noise and power of their V8, but this project has really captured their imaginations.
We all know that we need to find a way to a greener motoring future, so our sustainable V8 project has really got people thinking about what they can do to reduce the impact they have as a car owner.
And the questions about the project did’t stop at the fuel, with lots of interest show in the work we have been doing with our partners at eBay.
With many of the Simply Mustang owners preferring to roll up their sleeves and work on their own cars, our insight into how they can use eBay to not only save money on the parts they need, but also to reduce their environmental impact at the same time was a hot topic for discussion.
Coming soon – the big results reveal
We’ll be continuing to watch the numbers and report back and revealing the findings with a panel of experts on The eBay Live Stage at this years British Motor Show.
Join us at this years show where we’ll be revealing the results and comparing them to running the same car on traditional fuel.
If you are a classic or muscle car owner or a driver of any car who can’t yet make the move to Electric keep watching this space for more information.
