Following the phenomenal success of the inaugural PopUp Motor Show in Basingstoke Festival Place, The British Motor Show are delighted to confirm four more PopUp Motor Shows over the next 12 months. The first takes place in Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth, from 1st to 24th December 2021.
This event will showcase Electric cars, Classic cars, Supercars, and New cars, mixed with unusual and fun vehicles. We will give you a break from festive shopping, with a chance to see something different. There will be interactive entertainment, such as Scalextric and driving simulators.
If you have a car-lover in your life, this will be the perfect place to get their presents sorted with our gifts and merchandise stands and you can get your tickets for The British Motor Show 2022 with exclusive offers when you buy in-store!

Cars on display
- Ford Xr2 – the Fiesta Mark II appeared in August 1983 with a revised front end and interior. It featured a 96bhp 1.6L CVH engine and a five-speed gearbox.
- Electric 2cv – retaining the DNA and spirit of the 2cv the petrol engine has been replaced with an electric heart. The electrics have been tuned to give more torque for a more relaxing drive, at the same time as being sympathetic to the original 602cc performance
- 1989 Austin Mini – a lot of thought and work has gone into the rebuild to make this more than just a stock mini! This modified car has had a rebuilt Mini Cooper 1300cc engine fitted and was rebuilt in only 25 days to its former glory!
- Hendy Moke -The new Moke is back in the UK 56 years after it was first introduced. The new Moke uses many Mini parts but now features a more modern suspension, a new 66bhp 1.1-litre engine and the choice of a manual or four-speed automatic gearbox. Up to now, the Moke has been available in the Caribbean but now will hit British shores
- Electric Fiat 500 -The city car is powered by a 94bhp electric motor capable of 0-62mph in 9.5sec and an 84mph top speed. The 23.8kWh battery offers a WLTP-certified range of 115 miles and can charge at speeds of up to 50kW.
- Mazda MX-5 –The iconic Mazda MX-5 reinforces its position as the world’s best-selling two-seater sports car, boasting improved power-to-weight ratio, superior handling, exquisite styling and innovative technology.
- Caterham 620s – The seven 620 is the fastest production road car Caterham have ever built. Lurking at its heart is the same 2.0 litre Duratec from the heart-stompingly fast Seven 420, but in this Seven it’s coupled with a supercharger.
- Original 1963 Mini AA patrol van – The AA began using Minivans in 1962, and by 1965 they were a standard-issue patrol vehicle. they were used in their thousands until the early 1970s, but genuine ex-AA Minivans are now extremely rare. This model was first registered in March 1963. In 1984 it was fully restored and now is used for displays and to raise money at charity events.
- Renault Twizy – The Renault Twizy is actually a quadracycle and is powered by a 17bhp electric motor that produces 57Nm of torque, ensuring nippy performance around town and a top speed of 50mph. It can be fully charged in 3.5 hours from a domestic power socket and provides up to 62 miles of emission-free driving.
- Sinclair C5 – The Sinclair C5 was launched in 1985 and is technically an “electrically assisted pedal cycle”. It was the brainchild of Sir Clive Sinclair with a range of 20 miles and a top speed of 15 mph. Although widely described as an “electric car”, Sinclair described it as a “vehicle, not a car”. It was a commercial flop with only 5,000 of the 14,000 built dols, however, it is now a collector’s item.
