Guest Profile – TT bike legend John McGuinness

John McGuinness, one of the most successful TT racers of all time and an all-time great of motorbike road racing will be joining us at The British Motor Show this year.
During his racing career McGuinness achieved wins at all the International road racing events, but his legend status has been secured by his mastery of the infamous 37.7 mile public roads race that is the Isle of Man TT, proving him to be one of true giants of pure road racing.

Making his TT debut in 1996, he won the best newcomer title. Three years later, he lifted his first trophy, the 250cc Lightweight TT. Over the ensuing twenty-four years (1999 – 2023) he went on to accumulate and incredible twenty-three TT wins and forty-seven podiums from one hundred and eight starts.
He’s won TTs on R1 and R6 Yamahas, 250cc, 400cc, 600cc and 1,000cc Hondas, and the 720 AMDM single win in 2000 – plus two Mugen Shinden electric wins. He’s also won three Classic Senior TTs on the Team Winfield Paton 500 – in 2015, 2016 and 2018.
Having racked up an estimated total of over 1,375 combined qualifying / race laps, his experience and course knowledge around what’s arguably the most dangerous circuit in the world is second to none. He was also the first man to break through the “130 mph barrier” which he achieved in a memorable 2007 centenary year.
McGuinness will be joining the Honda Bikes stand on Friday 18th, so make sure to head down to the Bridgestone Motorsport Hall for your chance to meet the legend himself.
