The organisers of The British Motor Show opened the doors to their second PopUp Motor Show yesterday in Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth.
The PopUp Motor show, sponsored by cinch, will be open until the 24th December and features an eclectic mix of cars and exhibitors, all designed to give visitors a taste of what to expect at the show next August.
Day one saw nearly 1000 visitors through the doors, praising the event for its mix of cars, bikes, gifts and fun.
Vehicles on show include electric cars, sports cars and classic cars. Featuring the latest Fiat 500e, Caterham’s potent 620s, the Kia Picanto and wacky MOKE. But it’s not just new cars on display, with a stunning Xr2, an amazing modified Mini, an electric 2CV and a fantastic original 1963 Mini AA patrol van lovingly restored by patrols Nick Kirman and Steve Neath all taking centre stage.
The free to enter event has been built in a 5000 square foot retail unit in the centre of the main square and will be hosted by The British Motor Show team, offering visitors help and advice, while providing them with a personal tour of the exhibits.
The British Motor Show CEO, Andy Entwistle, who is behind the event said: “We’re incredibly proud to have delivered the second PopUp event in record time, and couldn’t have done this without headline sponsors cinch right behind us. They have not just given us the support we needed, but also put up a Citroen C3, which we’ll be giving away at the event. One lucky winner will have this car delivered to their door before Christmas!
Just one day in, and already we’ve had some fantastic conversations about all the cars on show, helping answer consumers’ questions about moving to electric, and reassuring those that are not yet ready to make the move.
It’s a great place for people to come along and get some advice, buy essential Christmas gifts for the car fan in their life, and meet like-minded enthusiasts.”
The event will be open from 10am – 6pm every day until Christmas Eve and is free to enter. Visitors can see the latest cars, get buying advice, buy show tickets, and even find Christmas gifts for the car fan in their life.
Further venues for the next Pop-Up Motor Shows will be announced in shortly.
