It’s World Recycling Day on March 18, so to celebrate The British Motor Show is launching a new interactive feature that’s sure to draw the crowds, create competition and give a new life to discarded automotive objects.
The Car Robot Competition will see showgoers able to create their own battle-style robots using old car parts, ahead of the show, to fight head to head in an arena, which will form a central part of the Show’s Crazee Car Corner, where you will find the weird and the wonderful, from monster trucks to modified cars. Enter this competition here.
Participants are invited to design their very own robot, static or mobile, using recycled car parts. The robots will then be judged for style and creativity before a winner is announced. Anyone who wants to get involved should contact the show now to register. Teams are invited from schools, colleges, companies, or just groups of friends and individuals.
The Crazee car area will bring you a huge display of modified cars, mental motorbikes, oddball caravans, upcycled automotive art and extreme machines. If you like the unusual, you’ll love the Crazee area.
Andy Entwistle, Show CEO, said: “The British Motor Show is about cars of all ages, shapes and sizes – it’s a celebration of cars in all their forms and the Crazee Corner is where those are taken to the extreme. That makes it the perfect place for visitors to create their own car robot creations and let their automotive imaginations run wild – and there’ll be some cool prizes on offer, too.”
As well as a tantalising display of new cars, when the show – sponsored by innovative car buying platform cinch – opens its doors in August it will feature the Select Electric Motor Show, an action packed Live Arena, a Live Stage, motoring celebrities, Retro-Electric Live (dedicate to classic-based EVs), a Supercar Paddock, classic cars, the IMI Technology Theatre, test drives, a kidz zone and a dedicated marketplace area full of petrolhead gift ideas.
It will also feature live exciting driving experiences including The Caterham Experience, The Paul Swift Stunt Driving Experience and Under 17 Driving Lessons along with the Sporting Bears charity Dream Rides.
The Show will also host the Automotive Careers Expo, which will run throughout the event to support the automotive sector and its employees as the Covid-19 Pandemic comes to an end.
Andy Entwistle added: “It’s hugely exciting to be announcing yet another exciting concept to add to our already action-packed show as we prepare for the end of Covid-19 restrictions. To thank all of our loyal supporters we’re going to make The British Motor Show an amazing, unforgettable and experiential day out, and all for just £18.50 per head, or £37 for a family ticket.”
